World Book Day

23rd of April is celebrated as a World Book Day. The date is also the anniversary of the birth and death of William Shakespeare. World Book Day is a celebration! It’s a celebration of authors, illustrators, books and (most importantly) it’s a celebration of reading. In fact, it’s the biggest celebration of its kind, designated by UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) as a worldwide celebration of books and reading, and marked in over 100 countries all over the world.

For this very special day, I would like to share collage of the bookmarks from last 9 years (From 2005 to 2013) as well as an Image of the bookmark of year 2014 that my grandma (Mrs. Aruna Jadeja) has made and shared with all the readers covering various subjects on a tiny card that is very useful for all the readers. What a creative way to share the joy and passion! ….

For the year 2014, there is a poem in the back of the bookmark written by a very special young boy – Dhananjay Jhala, my nephew and Mrs. Aruna Jadeja’s great grand son. The poem he wrote was for his great grandma for receiving National ‘Sahitya Academy Translation’ award. His meticulous choice of words and rhyming is magnificent.
